Kazuo Nishimoto, ganhador do prêmio ANP, reforça a importância da integração para as inovações tecnológicas

O professor Kazuo Nishimoto, do Departamento de Engenharia Naval e Oceânica da Escola Politécnica (Poli) da USP, recebeu, na manhã da sexta-feira, dia 23 de novembro, o reconhecimento Personalidade Inovação do Ano, do Prêmio ANP de Inovação Tecnológica 2018. A cerimônia de entrega foi realizada no Palácio do Itamaraty do Rio de Janeiro.

Em suas palavras de agradecimento, Kazuo destacou a dimensão do prêmio, concedido a uma personalidade da comunidade de profissionais que atua na área de ciência e tecnologia da indústria de óleo e gás, e ressaltou a importância da integração multidisciplinar entre diversas disciplinas e profissionais para promover a inovação na área. O professor acredita ter recebido o prêmio em nome de muitos que colaboraram em muitas realizações em que participou, “especificamente na área offshore pensando na integração e multidisciplinaridade. Assim, trabalhei de forma a agregar pessoas especialistas e de outras instituições”.

O docente agradeceu, à Universidade e à Poli, o acolhimento e a liberdade para desenvolver diversos trabalhos tecnológicos e científicos, e aos alunos e ex-alunos que trabalharam juntos no desenvolvimento de pesquisas sejam tecnológicos ou científicos, “além ficarem nas entediadas aulas que leciono. Aprendi muito com vocês”, concluiu.

Kazuo formou-se em Engenharia Naval e Oceânica na Escola Politécnica (Poli) da USP em 1979, realizou seu mestrado em Engenharia Naval e Oceânica na Yokohama National University em 1982, e seu doutorado em Engenharia Naval e Oceânica pela Universidade de Tokyo, em 1985. Alcançou o topo da carreira docente na USP em 2007, quando se tornou professor titular. Sua especialização foi na área de Engenharia Naval e Oceânica, com ênfase em Hidrodinâmica e Projeto de Navios e Sistemas Oceânicos, mas recentemente a sua atuação é de integração de diversos conhecimentos de engenharia e ciências básicas como coordenador geral do Tanque de Provas Numérico, laboratório reconhecido internacionalmente que realiza simulações navais.
